WBC lightweight world champion Edwin Valero has great plans for the future.
Valero had a conversation with WBC President Jose Sulaiman in which President Sulaiman praised Valero’s courageous and great performance during his dramatic victory over WBC interim champion Antonio De Marco last Saturday in Monterrey, Mexico.
Valero suffered a severe cut in his forehead in the second round of the bout, which made the fight full of drama.
He will be out of the ring for some time due to the injury, and is certain that he will look to compete in the super lightweight division.
The WBC is hereby naming Edwin Valero champion in recess for him to be allowed the necessary time to recover from the injury, and to make his decision regarding the division where he will continue his career.
The WBC is very proud of Edwin Valero becoming one of the most sensational champions of today
