The news conference, hosted by Hall of Fame
promoter Bob Arum, will feature the stars of this pay-per-view extravaganza,
including World Boxing Association (WBA) interim super flyweight champion and
Top-10 pound for pound fighter NONITO “The Filipino Flash” DONAIRE (22-1, 14
KOs), of General Santos City, Philippines and San Leandro, Calif., and his
top-rated opponent GERSON “El Nene” GUERRERO (34-8, 26 KOs), of Mexico
City; former WBA flyweight champion
and current No. 1 bantamweight contender ERIC “Little Hands of Steel,” MOREL
(41-2, 21 KOs), of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and his opponent, two-time world
champion GERRY “Fearless” PEÑALOSA (54-7-2, 34 KOs), of Cebu, Philippines; World
Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight champion FERNANDO “Cochulito” MONTIEL
(39-2-2, 29 KOs), of Los Mochis, Mexico, and his opponent, Top-10 contender CISO
“Kid Terrible” MORALES (14-0, 8 KOs), of Bohol, Philippines; world title
challengers, MARIO SANTIAGO (21-1-1, 14 KOs), of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and BERNABE
CONCEPCION (29-2-1, 17 KOs), of Rizal, Philippines and junior welterweight
sensation JOSE BENAVIDEZ (1-0, 1 KO), from Los Angeles.
The Official Weigh-In, which will be open to
the public, will take place on Friday, February 12 also in the Shimmer Showroom
at the Las Vegas Hilton. Fighters
will report at 3 p.m. PT, with the
weigh-in of the pay-per-view fighters beginning at 4 p.m.
“Latin Fury 13 / Pinoy Power 3,” produced
and distributed Live on Pay-Per-View by Top Rank, in association with PR Best
Boxing, ABS-CBN and the Las Vegas Hilton, will take place Saturday, February 13, 2010, beginning at
9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT from the Las Vegas Hilton. The five-bout pay-per-view broadcast
will feature Donaire defending his world title against Guerrero; Montiel
defending his world title against Morales' of Bohol, Philippines; Morel taking on Peñalosa in a 12-round
WBO bantamweight title elimination bout; a 10-round featherweight rumble between
Santiago and Concepcion; and the pay-per-view debut of Benavidez.
